Approval workflow

A social media approval workflow tool built into your scheduler

Postprism is a social media approval workflow tool with one review step built into scheduling. Editors submit posts for review, and an Owner or Admin approves each one or requests changes with a note from a single Approvals inbox, so you can check posts before they go out. It is included on the Freelancer and Agency plans.

  1. Submit for review
  2. Approve
  3. Request changes

How to set up a social media approval workflow in Postprism

Four steps from a draft to an approved post on the calendar.

  1. 01
    Invite Editors and approvers

Invite writers as Editors and reviewers as Admins in Team settings. The workspace Owner can approve too.

  2. 02
    Editors submit for review

In the Content Composer, open the publish menu and choose Submit for review, or click Submit for Review next to a draft in Drafts.

  3. 03
    Approve or request changes

Owners and Admins open Approvals to see each pending post with its author, networks and text, then click Approve or Request changes and add a note.

  4. 04
    Schedule, or fix and resubmit

An approved post goes back to drafts, ready to schedule. If changes were requested, the Editor sees the note, edits the post and submits it again.

What the Postprism approval workflow includes

One clear review step, with the feedback kept next to the post.

Submit for review

Editors send a post for review from the composer’s publish menu or straight from the Drafts list. Its status changes to pending review.

One Approvals inbox

Pending approvals lists every submitted post with its author, time, networks and a preview of the text, with Approve and Request changes on each.

Change requests with a note

Request changes opens a feedback box, so the Editor knows exactly what to fix. The note shows in Drafts next to a Revision requested badge.

My submissions for Editors

Editors see each post they submitted marked Pending review or Revision requested, with the reviewer’s name, the note and an Edit post button.

Owners and Admins approve

Roles decide who reviews: Owners and Admins approve, Editors submit, Viewers follow along read-only.

Members per workspace: Freelancer 3, Agency 10

An inbox per client

Each workspace has its own approvals, so client posts never mix. Invite a client to their workspace as an Admin to approve their own posts.

Who uses the Postprism approval workflow

Anyone who needs a second pair of eyes before a post goes out.

Agencies

Editors draft for each client, account leads approve as Admins, and clients can approve their own posts in their workspace.

Freelancers

Invite a client as an Admin so they approve posts in Postprism instead of replying to long email threads.

B2B marketing teams

Have product launches and executive posts checked by a lead before they reach LinkedIn, X and the other networks.

Small businesses

Let a part-time marketer write as an Editor while the owner signs off each post as Owner.

Send AI-drafted posts through approval

Postprism runs an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients can draft posts in your workspace for your team to review.

Drafts, not scheduled posts

create_post without a date saves a draft, which an Editor then submits for review like any other post.

Checks what is waiting

list_posts shows your drafts and scheduled posts, so the assistant can tell you what is still to be reviewed or scheduled.

Edits after feedback

Paste the reviewer’s note and ask the assistant to revise the draft with update_post before it goes back for review.

Works on every plan

Sign in with your Postprism account; no code needed. The REST API is on Freelancer and Agency.

You ask

Draft three LinkedIn posts about our autumn menu as drafts in Postprism, without scheduling them, so the team can review them.

Postprism tools it uses
  • create_postCreate a post from base content, target platforms and optional per-platform versions. Without a date it is saved as a draft; with scheduled_at it is scheduled.
  • list_postsList posts in a workspace, filtered by status (draft, scheduled, published).
  • get_postRead a single post by ID.
