Use an Exact Multiple Width
For 3 slides at 1080px each, start with a 3240px wide image. Exact multiples ensure clean pixel-perfect splits with no rounding artifacts at the edges.
Keep Text Within Each Panel's Safe Zone
Text near panel edges may get partially hidden by Instagram's UI overlay. Keep critical text at least 100px from where each slide divider falls.
Add Design Elements That Span Slides
Lines, shapes, or gradients that continue across slide boundaries create visual continuity and encourage viewers to swipe to the next slide.
Number Slides Visually in Your Design
Add "1/3", "2/3" labels in your source image design so viewers know they are looking at a carousel, not a standalone image.
Use 1080px Height Minimum for Instagram
Instagram crops thumbnails to a square. A height of 1080px ensures your first slide fills the feed thumbnail without black bars.
Post Slides in Correct Order
