AI agents

Run your social media from your AI assistant

Can an AI assistant post to social media? Yes. Postprism runs an MCP server and a REST API, so Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI and n8n can create, schedule and analyse posts on X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest. Every post the agent creates lands on your Postprism calendar, so you can review and edit it before it goes out.

How it works

01

Connect once

Add the Postprism MCP server to your assistant and sign in with your Postprism account. No API key to paste for MCP clients.

02

Ask in plain language

“Draft three LinkedIn posts from this blog post for next week.” The assistant calls create_post for each one, with a version per platform.

03

Review on your calendar

Drafts appear on the same calendar as everything else. Edit, approve and schedule them yourself, or let the agent schedule directly.

In the walkthrough, the marketer writes one post herself, then asks Claude to plan the follow-ups. They land on the same calendar.

What an agent can do in Postprism

The Postprism MCP server exposes 11 tools. They call the same API the app uses, so nothing an agent does bypasses your workspace.

list_postsList posts in a workspace, filtered by status (draft, scheduled, published).
create_postCreate a post from base content, target platforms and optional per-platform versions. Without a date it is saved as a draft; with scheduled_at it is scheduled.
get_postRead a single post by ID.
update_postChange a post: copy, per-platform versions, media or the scheduled time.
delete_postDelete a post by ID.
upload_mediaUpload an image or video (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, MP4, MOV, up to 10 MB) and get a URL to attach to a post.
get_analyticsList analytics records, filtered by post or platform.
get_post_analyticsEvery analytics record for one post.
list_platformsThe social accounts connected to a workspace.
list_workspacesEvery workspace you belong to, so one agent can act for several brands.
get_workspace_infoThe current workspace name and plan.

Limits to know

  • The agent works inside your Postprism workspace. It can only post to social accounts you have already connected in Postprism; connecting a new account always happens in Postprism, through each network’s own sign-in.
  • Each network’s own rules still apply: Pinterest Pins need an image, TikTok and YouTube need a video, X posts are capped at 280 characters, and Bluesky at 300.
  • Media has to be uploaded with upload_media first (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, MP4 or MOV, up to 10 MB per file). Links to files hosted elsewhere are rejected.
  • A post created without a date is saved as a draft. A post created with scheduled_at is scheduled and publishes automatically, so ask for drafts if you want to review first.
  • The MCP server allows 200 requests per hour per user, which is plenty for planning a month of posts but not for bulk-migrating thousands.
