Definition: An MCP server is a service that exposes an app’s actions as tools that AI assistants can call, using the open Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Also called: Model Context Protocol, MCP

The assistant (the MCP client) connects to the server, sees a list of tools with descriptions, and calls them when your request needs them. For social media, that means an assistant can create a post, upload an image or read analytics in the scheduler, instead of only writing text for you to copy.
You can say “draft next week’s LinkedIn posts from this article” and the drafts appear in your scheduler. The posts still live in one calendar, where a person can review them.
With the Postprism MCP server added to Claude Desktop, asking Claude to “save three LinkedIn drafts for next week” calls create_post three times, and the drafts appear on the Postprism calendar.
A social media scheduler is software that lets you write posts in advance and publishes them automatically to your social accounts at the times you choose.
A content calendar is a shared schedule of what will be posted, on which platforms and at what time, usually planned weeks ahead.
Write once, tailor each version yourself or with optional AI, and schedule to 6 networks from one calendar.
