What is the best social media tool for freelancers in 2026? Postprism is the best social media tool for freelancers, because its $49 Freelancer plan gives you 3 separate client workspaces, 3 team members, one-step client approvals, unlimited posts and 6 networks for one flat price, so a third client costs you nothing extra. Its AI writes a version of each post for every network in one request, which is where most freelance hours disappear.
The rest of the field suits narrower situations. Publer fits freelancers who want to pay per account as they grow, SocialBee fits evergreen content libraries, Planable fits clients who want to approve every post, Metricool fits freelancers who sell analytics, and Buffer fits one or two simple clients. This guide ranks 11 tools on the things that decide a freelancer's margin: cost per client, client separation, approvals and time saved per post. Every competitor price was checked on the vendor's own page in October 2026 and is linked below.
Key findings
- Freelancing is a large and growing way to work. Upwork's Freelance Forward study found that 64 million Americans freelanced in 2023, 38% of the US workforce, and that freelancers use generative AI regularly at more than twice the rate of other professionals (20% against 9%).
- Retainers make tool costs small, if pricing stays flat. HeyOrca's 2024 survey of more than 100 social media managers put the average freelance retainer at $1,750 to $2,765 a month per client depending on experience, with hourly rates from $46.71 to $92.23. A $49 tool is under 3% of one retainer; a per-channel tool can quietly grow past one client's margin.
- Per-channel pricing punishes freelancers. Buffer charges $5 per channel a month on Essentials and $10 on Team, and approvals are only on Team. Three clients with four channels each is 12 channels: $60 a month, or $120 with approvals.
- Per-workspace pricing does the same. Planable charges $33 or $49 per workspace a month, so three clients cost $99 to $147, and its Basic plan limits X publishing to one post per 24 hours.
- Approvals usually sit on the upper plans. Buffer (Team), Publer (Business), SocialBee (Accelerate and up), Metricool (Advanced) and SocialPilot (Premium) all reserve approval workflows for higher tiers, checked October 2026. Postprism includes them on the $49 Freelancer plan.
- Most tools count clients differently. Brands (Metricool), social sets (Later), workspaces (Planable, Sendible, Postprism), profiles (SocialBee, Vista Social) or accounts (Publer, Hootsuite). Comparing headline prices is meaningless until you convert each to cost per client, which the table below does.
What a freelancer needs from a social media tool
An in-house marketer manages one brand. An agency manages dozens, with account managers, designers and a reporting team. A freelancer sits between them: usually two to eight clients, one person doing everything, sometimes a subcontractor in busy months. That shapes what matters.
- Clean separation between clients. Each client's accounts, media, drafts and calendar should live in their own space, so you never post a dentist's promotion to a coffee roaster's TikTok. In Postprism this is a workspace per client.
- Flat, predictable cost. Your income is per client. Your tool cost should not rise every time a client adds TikTok.
- Client visibility without client chaos. Clients want to see what is coming and, often, sign off on it. They should not be able to break anything. A read-only role and a simple approval step cover most clients.
- Speed on the repetitive part. The billable value you deliver is ideas, judgement and taste. Reformatting one idea into six network versions is not. A tool that drafts the versions buys back hours every week.
- Room to grow. If you take on a fourth client or a part-time helper, the tool should stretch without a migration. If you become an agency, it should have a plan for that too. Our ranking of the best social media tools for agencies covers that stage.
How we evaluated the tools
We ranked each tool against a typical freelance setup: three clients, four networks each, about 12 posts per client per week, and at least one client who wants to approve posts. We used each vendor's own pricing page and documentation, checked in October 2026, and scored five things.
| Criterion | What we looked for | Why it matters to freelancers |
|---|---|---|
| Cost per client | Monthly price for three clients with four networks each, at the plan that includes approvals | Your margin is per client, so your tool cost should be too |
| Client separation | Workspaces, brands or sets that keep each client's content apart | Prevents cross-posting mistakes and keeps handover clean |
| Approvals and client access | A way for clients to see and sign off without editing rights | Most retainers include a review step |
| Time saved per post | Help writing per-network versions, templates, bulk scheduling | Writing six versions by hand is the biggest unbilled cost |
| Network coverage | Which of LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest it publishes to | Clients rarely use the same mix of networks |
Where a vendor page did not state something, we say so rather than guess. Where a page showed prices in local currency only, we say that too.
Cost per client: three clients, four networks each
This is the table most comparisons skip. It converts each tool's pricing model into the monthly cost of a realistic freelance book of business: 3 clients, 12 connected channels in total, with an approval step available. Prices are monthly billing unless noted, checked October 2026.
| Tool | Plan needed | Monthly cost for 3 clients, 12 channels | Cost per client | Approvals on that plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Postprism | Freelancer | $49 ($36 billed annually) | $16.33 | Yes |
| Buffer | Team | $120 (12 channels at $10) | $40 | Yes |
| Buffer | Essentials | $60 (12 channels at $5) | $20 | No |
| Publer | Business | From $10 for 1 account, rising per account and member | Use their calculator | Yes |
| SocialBee | Pro | $99 (25 profiles, 5 workspaces) | $33 | Yes |
| Planable | Pro | $147 (3 workspaces at $49) | $49 | Yes |
| Metricool | Advanced | $67 (15 brands, USD shown) | $22.33 | Yes |
| Later | Scale | $82.50, billed yearly (6 social sets) | $27.50 | Not stated on pricing page |
| Vista Social | Professional | $99 (15 profiles) | $33 | Yes |
| SocialPilot | Premium | Shown in local currency only | Check their page | Yes |
| Sendible | Plus | Dollar amounts not shown when checked | Check their page | Yes, per plan card |
| Hootsuite | Advanced | From $399 per user | $133 | Yes |
Two things stand out. First, flat pricing wins for freelancers by a wide margin once you have more than one client. Second, the plan that includes approvals is often a big step up from the entry plan, so check the price of the tier you actually need, not the headline. Our guide to what social media management costs covers how to build tool costs into your retainer.

The 11 best social media tools for freelancers, ranked
1. Postprism: best overall for freelancers
What it is. Postprism is a social media scheduler that publishes to 6 networks (LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky and Pinterest) from one content calendar, with AI that writes a version of each post for every network you select. The Postprism setup for freelancers shows how the pieces fit a one-person client business.
Why it ranks first for freelancers. The Freelancer plan is shaped around exactly the setup in this guide. For $49 a month you get 3 workspaces, one per client, and 3 team members, so you can bring in a subcontractor or invite a client. Posts are unlimited on every plan, and connecting more networks for a client does not change the price.
Standout features for freelancers.
- A workspace per client. Each client gets their own connected accounts, calendar and posts. Switching clients is switching workspaces, not logging in and out.
- Enhance with AI. Write the core post once, select the client's networks and press Enhance with AI. One request returns a version for every selected network, following style guidelines for LinkedIn, X, TikTok and YouTube: longer, paragraph-broken copy with 2 to 5 hashtags for LinkedIn, a short, punchy version for X, and a TikTok caption with 3 to 5 hashtags. Text over a network's limit turns red, so nothing goes out truncated. See AI content adaptation.
- Brand Identity. The AI writes from your Brand Identity: brand name, industry, a default tone (Professional, Casual, Friendly, Authoritative, Playful, Inspirational or Educational), values, target audience and key messaging. See brand voice AI.
- Approvals on the Freelancer plan. A one-step approval: submitted posts wait for an Owner or Admin, who can approve or request changes with a note, and submitters see their posts under "My submissions". See approval workflow.
- Client access that cannot break things. Invite a client to their own workspace as a Viewer, which is read-only, or as an Admin if they want to approve posts.
- Planning tools. A content calendar with month, week and day views, a kanban board for Drafts, Scheduled and Published, and a table view with search. "Generate content plan" builds a 4-week plan to start each client's month, and 24 content templates in 6 categories sit in the composer.
- Bulk scheduling. Upload a CSV of up to 200 posts per file, or hand an XLSX or JSON file to the AI scheduling assistant. See bulk scheduling.
- Analytics on four networks. Impressions, reach, clicks, engagement rate, top posts and current follower counts for X, YouTube, LinkedIn Pages and TikTok, over 30, 60 or 90 days. See analytics.
- Time zone per post. Useful when your clients sit in different time zones from you.
- Media in one place. A media library with tags and search, plus imports from Google Drive, Dropbox and Canva into the composer, where many clients already keep their files.
- AI agents and API. An MCP server with 11 tools on every plan, so you can draft and schedule from Claude or ChatGPT, and a REST API on Freelancer and Agency for your own automations.
Pricing. Solo is $19 a month for one workspace, Freelancer $49 for 3 workspaces and 3 members, Agency $99 for 10 workspaces and 10 members. Billed annually, that is $14, $36 and $75 a month. AI adaptations are 150, 500 and 2,000 a month. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.
Who it is for. Freelance social media managers with two to ten clients who want each client in a clean workspace, approvals without an enterprise price, and AI that drafts every network's version from one brief. If you have a single client, Solo at $19 covers it.
2. Publer: best for pay-as-you-grow per-account pricing
What it is. A scheduler priced per social account and per member, with unlimited workspaces on paid plans.
Standout features. Publer's help centre lists Professional from $5 a month and Business from $10 a month, each for one account, with the price rising as you add accounts and members, and every tenth account or member free. Paid plans include unlimited workspaces, and yearly billing takes 20% off, checked October 2026.
Limits. Approval workflows are on Business, not Professional. The free plan covers 3 accounts, excludes X, and allows 10 scheduled posts per account at a time. Because cost grows with accounts and members, a freelancer adding clients sees the bill climb with each one.
Who it is for. Freelancers starting with one small client who want to pay only for the accounts they connect. Compare the two on our Publer alternative page.
3. SocialBee: best for evergreen content libraries
What it is. A scheduler built around content categories, where posts sit in categories and are recycled on a schedule.
Standout features. Category-based scheduling suits clients with lots of evergreen material such as tips, testimonials and blog posts. SocialBee's pricing, checked October 2026, lists Bootstrap at $29 a month (5 profiles, 1 workspace), Accelerate at $49 (10 profiles, 1 workspace, with post approval) and Pro at $99 (25 profiles, 5 workspaces, 3 users per workspace). Annual billing lowers these to $24, $40 and $82 a month. There is a 14-day trial.
Limits. Accelerate gives you only one workspace, so separating three clients means Pro at $99. Users are counted per workspace.
Who it is for. Freelancers whose clients run on recycled evergreen content and who like organising by category. See our SocialBee alternative comparison.
4. Planable: best for clients who approve every post
What it is. A collaboration-first content calendar where clients comment on and approve posts in a feed-like preview.
Standout features. Planable's pricing is per workspace with unlimited users: Basic is $33 per workspace a month (60 posts, 4 social pages, optional approvals) and Pro is $49 (150 posts, 10 pages, optional or required approvals), checked October 2026. The free plan gives 50 posts in total, which do not reset.
Limits. Per-workspace pricing adds up: three clients on Pro is $147 a month. Basic limits X publishing to one post per 24 hours, and post caps per workspace matter for busy clients.
Who it is for. Freelancers whose clients are heavily involved, want to comment on every draft and need the approval itself to be the centre of the workflow. See our Planable alternative page and the best approval workflow tools.
5. Metricool: best for freelancers who sell analytics
What it is. A planner with strong analytics, priced by number of brands.
Standout features. Metricool's pricing, checked October 2026, lists Starter from $25 a month for 5 brands ($20 billed annually) and Advanced from $67 for 15 brands ($53 billed annually), in USD before VAT. Advanced adds team and client management, roles and a post approval system. Competitor tracking and an MCP server are listed even on the free plan.
Limits. Approvals start on Advanced. The free plan allows 20 posts a month for one brand and excludes LinkedIn and X. AI credits are counted per brand per month (20 on Starter, 35 on Advanced).
Who it is for. Freelancers who sell reporting and competitor analysis as part of the retainer. See our Metricool alternative page.
6. Buffer: best for one or two simple clients
What it is. A long-running, easy scheduler priced per channel.
Standout features. A clean composer, an Ideas board, and API access on every plan. Buffer's pricing, checked October 2026, is free for up to 3 channels (10 scheduled posts each), $5 per channel a month on Essentials and $10 per channel on Team, with channels beyond ten priced lower.
Limits. Approval workflows and custom permissions are only on Team, and Essentials has one user. For 12 channels you pay $120 a month on Team.
Who it is for. Freelancers with one or two clients on two or three networks, who want something simple and do not need client sign-off. See our Buffer alternative comparison.
7. Later: best for Instagram-first clients
What it is. A visual planner that grew out of Instagram scheduling, priced by "social set" (one profile per network).
Standout features. Later's pricing, billed yearly and checked October 2026, is $18.75 a month for Starter (1 social set, 8 profiles, 1 user), $37.50 for Growth (2 sets, 16 profiles, 2 users) and $82.50 for Scale (6 sets, 48 profiles, 4 users). There is a 14-day trial.
Limits. Starter and Growth cap posts at 30 and 180 per profile a month; only Scale is unlimited. Three clients need three sets, so Scale. AI credits are 5, 50 and 100 a month.
Who it is for. Freelancers whose clients live on Instagram and care most about the grid. See our Later alternative page.
8. SocialPilot: best when clients expect white-label reports
What it is. An agency-oriented scheduler with client management.
Standout features. SocialPilot's Premium plan lists 30 accounts, 3 users, unlimited client seats, content, client and manager approval workflows, and white-label reports, checked October 2026.
Limits. The Standard plan has 10 accounts, one user and no client management or approvals. When we checked, prices were shown only in local currency, so confirm the dollar price on their page.
Who it is for. Freelancers whose clients expect a branded monthly report PDF. See our SocialPilot alternative page.
9. Sendible: best for freelancers turning into an agency
What it is. A client-management scheduler that scales by workspaces and profiles.
Standout features. Sendible's plans, checked October 2026, run from Core (1 workspace, 6 profiles) to Plus (3 workspaces, 18 profiles, with assignment and approvals on the plan card) and Premium (7 workspaces, 42 profiles), all with unlimited users. Client Connect lets clients connect their own accounts.
Limits. The dollar amounts were not shown on the page when we checked, and the plan cards and detailed feature list disagree on which plan includes approvals, so confirm both in a trial.
Who it is for. Freelancers already planning to hire and grow into a small agency. See our Sendible alternative page.
10. Vista Social: best when clients want inbox management too
What it is. An all-in-one tool with publishing, engagement and reporting.
Standout features. Vista Social's Professional plan is $99 a month for 15 profiles with a post workflow that includes approval stages; Advanced is $199 for 30 profiles with custom approval workflows for clients, checked October 2026. A 14-day trial is offered.
Limits. No free plan, and the pricing table and FAQ disagree on how many users each plan includes, so confirm before you buy.
Who it is for. Freelancers whose retainers include replying to comments and messages, not just publishing.
11. Hootsuite: best when a client already uses it
What it is. The enterprise suite, priced per user.
Standout features. Broad integrations, listening and an inbox. Hootsuite's plans page says paid plans start at $99 for Standard (10 accounts) and range up to $399 for Advanced, which is where "review and approve content with your team" appears, checked October 2026. There is a 14-day trial.
Limits. Per-user pricing at this level is hard to justify for one person; Standard's 10 accounts do not cover 12 channels.
Who it is for. Freelancers placed inside a larger client that already pays for Hootsuite seats. See our Hootsuite alternative page.

How to choose a social media tool as a freelancer
By number of clients
- One client. Almost anything works. Postprism Solo at $19 covers all 6 networks with unlimited posts; Buffer's free plan works for three channels if you post lightly.
- Two to three clients. This is the freelance sweet spot and the point where pricing models diverge most. Postprism Freelancer at $49 gives each client a workspace with approvals. Compare that with $99 to $147 on per-workspace or per-channel tools.
- Four to ten clients. You are running a micro-agency. Postprism Agency at $99 gives 10 workspaces and 10 members. Sendible and SocialPilot also target this stage.
- More than ten. Read our agency tools ranking and the Postprism setup for agencies.
By how involved your clients are
Hands-off clients want results and a monthly summary. You need speed more than collaboration features, so prioritise AI drafting and bulk scheduling. Watchful clients want to see the calendar but rarely edit. A read-only Viewer role is ideal. Hands-on clients want to approve each post. Pick a tool with an approval step on the plan you can afford; in Postprism, invite them as an Admin of their own workspace so they can approve or request changes. Our guide to social media approval workflows covers how to set expectations so approvals do not become a bottleneck.
By the networks your clients use
| Client type | Typical networks | What the tool must handle well |
|---|---|---|
| Local service business | Facebook, Instagram, sometimes LinkedIn | Single-image posts and carousels, links in Facebook posts |
| B2B founder or consultant | LinkedIn, X, Threads, Bluesky | Long-form LinkedIn text alongside short versions under 280 and 300 characters |
| E-commerce brand | Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook | Image carousels, TikTok video, Pins with searchable titles |
| Creator or coach | TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Threads | Video uploads with titles, tags and thumbnails for YouTube |
| Nonprofit | Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn | Different calls to action for supporters and funders |
Postprism publishes to all six networks on every plan, so a new client's network mix never forces a plan change. For per-network details, see the LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest scheduler pages.
By how you bill
If you bill a fixed monthly retainer, a flat-priced tool keeps your margin predictable. If you bill hourly, the tool that saves the most writing time pays for itself fastest: at HeyOrca's survey average of $46.71 to $92.23 an hour, saving one hour a month already covers a $49 plan. If you pass tool costs through to clients, per-client pricing is easier to itemise, but you can do the same with a flat plan by dividing it across clients, which is what the cost-per-client table does.
By where you are heading
If you plan to stay solo, optimise for speed and cost. If you plan to hire, choose a tool whose next plan up fits a team, so you never have to migrate a client's calendar mid-retainer. Postprism's plans go from 1 to 3 to 10 workspaces with the same product, and the solo founders and small business setups cover clients who later want to run it themselves.
Give each client a workspace
Postprism keeps clients apart, drafts every network's version in one request and lets clients approve. 7-day free trial.
Worked example: a freelancer with three clients
Maya is a freelance social media manager with three retainers. Here is how a week looks in Postprism on the Freelancer plan, with one workspace per client.
| Client | Networks | Posts a week | Who has access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brightside Dental, a two-site clinic | LinkedIn, X, TikTok | 4 ideas, 12 posts | Practice manager as Admin, approves posts |
| Ledgerly, a bookkeeping SaaS founder | LinkedIn, X, Bluesky | 5 ideas, 15 posts | Founder as Viewer, watches the calendar |
| North Hill Roasters, a coffee brand | TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, X | 4 ideas, 16 posts | Owner as Viewer; a part-time video editor as Editor |
Monday, planning. Maya opens each workspace in turn. For a new month she uses "Generate content plan" to draft a 4-week plan from the client's Brand Identity, then edits the ideas so they match what the client actually has coming up: a new patient offer, a product launch, a seasonal blend. Each client's Brand Identity holds their industry, tone and key messaging, so Brightside's drafts come out Friendly and Educational while Ledgerly's are Authoritative.
Tuesday, writing. For each idea she writes a two-sentence core post, selects the client's networks and presses Enhance with AI. For Ledgerly, one request returns a LinkedIn version with paragraph breaks and a few professional hashtags, and a short X version with one or two tags at most. She writes the Bluesky version as a sharp take, watching the counter so nothing runs over. For North Hill, the TikTok caption carries 3 to 5 hashtags for the video the editor uploads, and the Pinterest version gets a searchable pin title. She edits every version; the AI saves the reformatting, she keeps the judgement.
Wednesday, approvals. Brightside's posts go to the practice manager, who approves most and requests changes on one with a note about a price. Maya updates it and resubmits. The video editor's TikTok drafts for North Hill go through the same step, and he tracks them under "My submissions".
Thursday, scheduling. Everything sits on each client's calendar. Ledgerly's founder is in another time zone, so those posts are set in his time zone. She checks the kanban for each workspace to confirm nothing is still in Drafts.
End of month, reporting. In each workspace she reviews impressions, reach, engagement rate and top posts for the last 30 days, and writes each client a short summary of what worked and what she will change.
| Task | By hand, per week | In Postprism, per week |
|---|---|---|
| Writing 43 network versions from 13 ideas | About 8 hours | About 3 hours, including edits |
| Collecting approvals by email and chat | About 1.5 hours | About 20 minutes |
| Posting or scheduling in each native app | About 2 hours | About 30 minutes |
| Tool cost | Several free tools and logins | $49 a month for all three clients |
The time figures are our estimates for this example, not measured averages, but the shape holds: most saved time comes from not writing every network's version from scratch. At a $50 hourly rate, eight saved hours a week is worth far more than the plan.
Setting up your freelance stack in Postprism, step by step
- Start the 7-day trial on the Freelancer plan if you have two or more clients, or Solo for one.
- Create one workspace per client and name it after the client.
- Connect the client's accounts inside their workspace. Ask clients to add you as an admin of their LinkedIn Page, YouTube channel and so on first, so you are not using their passwords.
- Fill in Brand Identity for each client: name, industry, default tone, values, target audience and key messaging. The AI drafts from this, so ten minutes here saves hours later. Our guide to writing for multiple platforms helps you decide what goes in.
- Invite the client as a Viewer if they only want to see the calendar, or as an Admin if they will approve posts. Invite a subcontractor as an Editor.
- Load media into the media library, or import from the client's Google Drive, Dropbox or Canva in the composer.
- Generate a content plan for the first month, then edit it.
- Write, enhance and schedule the first two weeks. If the client sent a spreadsheet of posts, upload it as a CSV with content, scheduled_at and an optional media_url column. See how to build a social media content calendar.
- Agree the approval rhythm: for example, posts submitted by Wednesday, approved by Friday, for the following week.
- Review analytics after the first month and adjust the mix of networks and formats.
The free tools every freelancer should bookmark
A scheduler is the core, but small free tools fill gaps during client work. All of these are on our site, run in your browser and need no signup.
- Social media character counter to check a caption against every network's limit at once.
- Social media image resizer for client photos that arrive in the wrong size.
- Instagram caption generator and Instagram hashtag generator for quick first ideas on a new client's topic.
- UTM builder to tag client links so they can see social traffic in their analytics. The UTM parameters glossary entry explains the fields.
- Instagram engagement calculator to give prospective clients a quick audit number in a pitch.
Common mistakes freelancers make with social media tools
- Choosing on the entry price. The plan with approvals and enough client spaces is the one that matters. Fix: price your real setup, as in the cost-per-client table.
- Keeping every client in one space. One busy evening and a post lands on the wrong account. Fix: one workspace per client.
- Sharing logins with clients. It creates security risk and confusion over who posted what. Fix: give clients a read-only or approver role in their own workspace.
- Pasting one caption everywhere. LinkedIn and X audiences notice. Fix: a version per network, drafted by AI and edited by you. See cross-posting.
- Letting approvals drift. Clients who approve on their own schedule push posts late. Fix: a fixed weekly deadline written into the contract.
- Ignoring time zones. A client's audience wakes up in their time zone, not yours. Fix: set the time zone per post.
- Not building tool costs into the retainer. Fix: add your per-client tool cost to every proposal.
- Reporting vanity numbers. Fix: report engagement rate, reach and top posts, and explain what you will change.
- Waiting to switch tools until a busy month. Fix: migrate in a quiet week, client by client, with a free trial.
The verdict
Postprism is the best social media tool for freelancers in 2026: one workspace per client, one-step client approvals, a read-only role for watchful clients, AI that drafts every network's version in one request, and 6 networks with unlimited posts, all for $49 a month for three clients. Publer suits freelancers who want to pay per account while they are small, SocialBee suits evergreen content libraries, Planable suits clients who want to approve every post, and Metricool suits retainers built on analytics. If you are growing past ten clients, our agency tools ranking picks up from here.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best social media tool for freelancers?
Postprism, for most freelance social media managers. Its $49 Freelancer plan gives you 3 client workspaces, 3 team members, one-step approvals, unlimited posts and 6 networks, and its AI drafts a version of each post for every selected network in one request.
How much should a freelancer spend on social media tools?
Aim to keep tools to a small share of one client's retainer. HeyOrca's 2024 survey put average freelance retainers at $1,750 to $2,765 a month per client, so a flat $49 plan for three clients is under 3% of a single retainer. Per-channel and per-workspace tools can cost $99 to $150 a month for the same setup.
Can clients approve posts without being able to publish them?
Yes, in most tools on the plan that includes approvals. In Postprism, invite the client to their own workspace as an Admin to approve or request changes, or as a Viewer for read-only access to the calendar. Approvals are on the Freelancer and Agency plans.
Is there a free social media tool for freelancers?
Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, Publer's free plan covers 3 accounts excluding X, and Metricool's free plan covers one brand with 20 posts a month excluding LinkedIn and X. None of them suits more than one client. Postprism offers a 7-day free trial on every plan.
Does Buffer have approval workflows?
Yes, but only on the Team plan, which costs $10 per channel a month as of October 2026. Essentials, at $5 per channel, has one user and no approval workflows.
Is Publer good for freelancers?
Publer works well for freelancers with one or two small clients, because it charges per account and includes unlimited workspaces on paid plans. Approval workflows are on the Business plan, and the bill rises with every account and member you add.
Can AI write my clients' social media posts?
AI can draft them, and you should edit them. In Postprism, Enhance with AI returns a version for every selected network from one core post, using each client's Brand Identity for tone and messaging, with per-network hashtag guidance such as 2 to 5 on LinkedIn and 3 to 5 on TikTok.
When should a freelancer move to an agency tool?
