Connect Claude Code to social media
Can Claude Code post to social media? Yes. One command adds the Postprism MCP server to Claude Code, and it can then draft and schedule posts for 6 networks from your terminal. Developers use it to turn a changelog or pull request into launch posts for X, LinkedIn and Bluesky in the same session they shipped the code.
How to connect Claude Code to Postprism
What you need
- Claude Code installed and signed in
- A Postprism account with at least one social account connected

Add the Postprism server
Run this in your terminal. Use --scope user to make it available in every project, or leave it out to add it to the current project only.

Sign in
Start Claude Code, run /mcp, choose postprism and select Authenticate. Your browser opens to sign in to Postprism and approve access.

Check the connection
Ask “list my connected Postprism platforms”. Claude Code calls list_platforms and prints them.
What it looks like
Read CHANGELOG.md for v2.4 and draft launch posts for X, LinkedIn and Bluesky. Save them as drafts for tomorrow at 10 AM.
Claude Code reads the file, writes a short X post, a longer LinkedIn post that explains why the release matters, and a Bluesky post under 300 characters, then calls create_post once with all three versions as a draft.

Keep it in the repo
Add a short “social voice” section to CLAUDE.md so every launch post follows the same tone and rules.
Point at files, not summaries
Claude Code writes better posts when it reads the changelog or diff itself rather than your paraphrase.
Review before shipping
Drafts land on your Postprism calendar. Glance at them in Studio before scheduling, especially numbers and names.
Limits to know
- The agent works inside your Postprism workspace. It can only post to social accounts you have already connected in Postprism; connecting a new account always happens in Postprism, through each network’s own sign-in.
- Each network’s own rules still apply: Pinterest Pins need an image, TikTok and YouTube need a video, X posts are capped at 280 characters, and Bluesky at 300.
- Media has to be uploaded with upload_media first (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, MP4 or MOV, up to 10 MB per file). Links to files hosted elsewhere are rejected.
- A post created without a date is saved as a draft. A post created with scheduled_at is scheduled and publishes automatically, so ask for drafts if you want to review first.
- The MCP server allows 200 requests per hour per user, which is plenty for planning a month of posts but not for bulk-migrating thousands.
