Definition: Save rate is the percentage of people who saved (bookmarked) a post out of the people who saw it.

Updated October 10, 2026

Save rate
Save rate = saves ÷ reach × 100

Why saves matter

A save means someone wants to come back to the post, which is a stronger signal than a like. Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and Pinterest all let people save posts, and saved content tends to keep getting distributed for longer.

Content that earns saves

Reference material: checklists, step-by-step carousels, templates, recipes, size guides and short how-tos. If a post is useful the second time someone reads it, it will get saved.

Example

An Instagram carousel reaches 5,000 accounts and is saved 210 times. Save rate = 210 ÷ 5,000 × 100 = 4.2%.
